Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Delta Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the North Sunflower Academy Rebels 68-14. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Delta Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bailey Seymore, who rushed for 143 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also picked up 39 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those 143 rushing yards gave Seymore a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chaderious Boclair, who rushed for 148 yards and a pair of scores.
Delta Academy's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-8. As for North Sunflower Academy, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-8.
As of now, neither Delta Academy nor the Rebels have any future games scheduled.
