Baseball Recap: Four Straight Home Wins for Tallulah Academy

While Tallulah Academy's victory against Wilkinson County Christian Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Rams 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since February 13, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Tripp Gayle, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Kennedy Collins also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Tallulah Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Wilkinson County Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tallulah Academy will take on River Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wilkinson County Christian Academy, they will head out to face off against Centreville Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
