There's no place like home for the Somerset Bulldogs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against Seguin by a score of 41-34 on Saturday. For Somerset, this counts as revenge for the 46-23 loss Seguin walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November.
Seguin's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jazmine Missildine, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 15 rebounds. Missildine scored a full 29.4% of Seguin's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Desiree Zuniga, who scored 15 points.
Seguin struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. Seguin is winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
Somerset's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Seguin, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season.
Somerset will head out on the road to face off against John F. Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. John F. Kennedy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Seguin, they will be playing at home against Gonzales at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Gonzales is ranked 1171st, while Seguin is ranked 1196th).
