Last Saturday, Minto was the victim of a tough 45-24 defeat at the hands of Susitna Valley. Minto was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.
Despite the defeat, Minto saw an underclassman step up: Jena Smith scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Effie Kokrine Charter's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Tuesday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 60-14 defeat at the hands of Nenana.
Minto's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Effie Kokrine Charter, their loss was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-1.
Minto was able to grind out a solid win over Effie Kokrine Charter in their previous matchup back in February of 2017, winning 41-33. Does Minto have another victory up their sleeve, or will Effie Kokrine Charter turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
