Burbank is 8-2 against Jefferson since February of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Burbank 2.3, Jefferson 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Jefferson's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: Burbank hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Bulldogs' pitchers stepped up to hand Lanier an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Isaac Sandoval was incredible, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Issac Perez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
Burbank hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Jefferson came up short against Edison on Thursday and fell 9-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Golden Bears: they've now lost eight in a row.
Jefferson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Urdiales, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Urdiales has become a key player for the Mustangs: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-11 otherwise.
Burbank is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, they now have a losing record of 12-13.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Burbank hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .336. However, it's not like Jefferson struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Burbank skirted past Jefferson 1-0 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
