Softball Recap: Emery Extends Winning Streak to Three

Emery extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 4-3 in the process. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Vallejo Redhawks. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Redhawks back in March, they had to take a 17-4 defeat.

As for Vallejo, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-1 record this season. They were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the four contests prior), but Emery's pitcher proved too tough.

For Vallejo's part, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Se'Maj McFarland, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.

Emery will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hercules at 4:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Vallejo, they will challenge Richmond at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Oilers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.33 runs per game on average), something the Redhawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
