Dayton is 2-8 against Calvary Christian since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Dayton Greendevils will head out on the road to take on the Calvary Christian Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Dayton has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 12.
Dayton pushed their score all the way to 68 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 75-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heritage Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (60), Dayton still had to take the loss.
Calvary Christian lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They had to suffer through a rough 74-36 loss at the hands of Scott. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Calvary Christian has suffered against Scott since December 2, 2014.
Dayton's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-12. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Calvary Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-12.
Dayton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 52-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dayton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
