Basketball Recap: Northwest Christian Piles Up the Points Against Bourgade Catholic

Northwest Christian's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They breezed by the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles to the tune of 52-18. Given the Crusaders' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 264th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylie Seifried out in front who posted nine points. Seifried has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Adrianna Stannard was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Northwest Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests.

Bourgade Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Nizhoni Rainbolt, who put up ten points and six boards. That was a full 55.6% of Bourgade Catholic's points, marking the 11th time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyra Williams, who scored six points.

The win got Northwest Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Bourgade Catholic, they dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Northwest Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 50-14 defeat against Payson on the 16th. Bourgade Catholic has also already played their next game, a 59-28 loss against San Tan Foothills on the 18th.
