Beaver Local made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Brooke, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Beavers were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Bruins on Wednesday. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by ten runs or more this season.
Addie Thurik made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Thurik was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Beaver Local got a massive performance out of Tori Druschel, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Druschel a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Beaver Local lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Harrison Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Buckeye Local on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 6-5. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Mikayla Pelegreen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she struck out eight batters over 4.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.
At the plate, Kara Blackburn made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season. Kailey Banal was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Beaver Local's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Harrison Central, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
