After seven games on the road, Sweetwater is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Andrews Mustangs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Sweetwater has not done well against Sands recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Sweetwater sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-38 victory over Sands.
Sweetwater's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mallory Gibson, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Braelyn Gaytan was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Andrews scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Lake View, posting a 70-20 victory at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Andrews as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Sweetwater is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Andrews, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-13.
