This season hasn't been kind to the Cloverdale Clovers, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They were dealt a 71-34 defeat at the hands of Indian Creek on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cloverdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Indian Creek is ranked 72nd).
Despite the loss, Cloverdale still got an impressive performance from Noah Betz, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Betz's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Indian Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Martin, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Sichting, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Cloverdale's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Indian Creek, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cloverdale will take on South Putnam at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Putnam comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Indian Creek will be home for the holidays to greet Edgewood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Mialin White and Adam Crouch.
