Softball Recap: Blackman Wins Going Away Against Moline

Blackman had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Moline on Thursday. Blackman blew past Moline 10-1. Considering the Blaze have won four matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Keel tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Blackman got a massive performance out of Alyssa Barber, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sophia Sullivan was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Blackman hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

The victory got Blackman back to even at 6-6. As for Moline, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Blackman will look to defend their home field on Friday against Creek Wood at 6:00 p.m. As for Moline, they will challenge Rock Falls at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
