After a string of four wins, Pinson Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against the Gardendale Rockets, falling 7-0. While losing is never fun, Pinson Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Gardendale are ranked 29th).

Pinson Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Gardendale, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Pinson Valley will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mountain Brook at 5:00 p.m. on April 2. As for Gardendale, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 win against Woodlawn on the 21st.
