On Tuesday, Wheaton Academy strolled past Chicago Hope Academy with points to spare, taking the game 57-38. The win made it back-to-back wins for Wheaton Academy.
Chicago Hope Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amoria Allen, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Janessa Centeno was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Wheaton Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Chicago Hope Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheaton Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westminster Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Westminster Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 693rd, while Wheaton Academy is ranked 162nd). As for Chicago Hope Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Prosser at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
