Softball Recap: Bishop Loughlin Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bishop Loughlin had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. Everything went their way against the Christ the King Royals as they made off with a 17-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Bishop Loughlin got a massive performance out of Zoe Rodriguez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave Rodriguez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Duverge, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Bishop Loughlin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .711. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matches.

Bishop Loughlin's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Christ the King, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Loughlin will take on St. John's Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Christ the King, they will face off against Nazareth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
