The School for Entrepreneurship & Technology Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Mount Miguel Matadors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. School for Entrepreneurship & Technology is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games.
On Wednesday, School for Entrepreneurship & Technology was able to grind out a solid win over La Jolla Country Day, taking the game 3-1.
School for Entrepreneurship & Technology got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 21-25, 30-28, 25-16.
Meanwhile, Mount Miguel didn't have quite enough to beat Hoover on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Matadors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mount Miguel started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-13.
School for Entrepreneurship & Technology will have to keep a close watch on Jamall Soulivong and Alex Cano, a pair of players who had a big impact on Mount Miguel's prior game. Soulivong had 19 digs and five aces, while Cano had 38 digs and three aces. Those 38 digs gave Cano a new career-high.
Even though they lost, Mount Miguel was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.
Mount Miguel's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for School for Entrepreneurship & Technology, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
School for Entrepreneurship & Technology skirted past Mount Miguel 3-2 in their previous meeting back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for School for Entrepreneurship & Technology since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
