They came out on top in a nail-biter against Highland Rim Academy and snuck past 52-50. The team accrued 41 points in the first half and coasted on those for the victory.
Christian Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was A.C. Caverly out in front who scored 14 points along with three blocks. It was the first time this season that Caverly posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Autumn Ray, who scored nine points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Clarksville Christian scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 81-23 win over South Haven Christian. Clarksville Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 35 points or more this season.
Clarksville Christian relied on the efforts of Nevaeh Brooks, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and five steals, and Lauren Hassell, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. Hassell hasn't dropped below 18 points for four straight games. Alessia Nesbitt was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Christian Community is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. As for Clarksville Christian, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Christian Community have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Clarksville Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.5 rebounds per game.
