The Statesboro Blue Devils entered their tilt with the Bulloch Academy Gators with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Statesboro enjoyed a cozy 64-48 victory over Bulloch Academy on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Statesboro also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Reya Johnson was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. The game was her ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lindsay Johnson, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Statesboro's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Bulloch Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Statesboro and Tattnall County will round out the year against one another at 12:30 p.m. on December 27th at. Bulloch Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southeast Bulloch at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Southeast Bulloch comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 17 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
