Texas Wind came tearing into Thursday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over Granger.
Texas Wind's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Simeon Stegemoller, who scored 24 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stegemoller has scored at least 25% of Texas Wind's points. Grayson Bourland was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Texas Wind's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Granger, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Texas Wind is on the road again on Thursday and play against Itasca at 4:10 p.m. on November 30th. Itasca will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Granger, they will square off against Vanguard College Prep at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday. Vanguard College Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Granger likes a good challenge.
