The Granby Comets fell victim to the Maury Commodores''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Commodores 62-0. Granby has struggled against Maury recently, as their game on Friday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Christian Post threw for 63 yards on three of ten attempts. Eamon Cuffee was his top target, picking up 45 receiving yards. On the ground, Drevyon Tharrington rushed for 39 yards.
Granby's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Maury, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Granby will head out on the road to face off against Nansemond River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Nansemond River knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Granby likes a good challenge. As for Maury, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Kecoughtan at 7:00 p.m. Kecoughtan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Maury is ranked second).
