Softball Recap: Livingston Finds Playoff Glory Versus Northside

With a playoff win on the line, Livingston rose to the challenge on Friday. They never let the Northside Panthers get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 14 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Northside's batters probably weren't too happy with Brooke Anderson, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up a single walk). Anderson has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shelby Dickerson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Brianna Nelson, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The win was the fourth in a row for Livingston, bringing their record up to 25-7. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Northside, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 16-1.

Coming up, Livingston will square off against Little Cypress-Mauriceville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bears will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight. Northside does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
