With a playoff game on the line, the Grossmont Foothillers rose to the challenge on Friday. They strolled past Mission Bay with points to spare, taking the game 30-14. The win made it back-to-back wins for Grossmont.
Isaac Aceves had a dynamite game for Grossmont, rushing for 244 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Hudson Herber was another key contributor, throwing for 83 yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Grossmont's defense and their 3.5 sacks. Jacob Suter was especially locked on to Mission Bay's QB and sacked him twice.
Grossmont is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Mission Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Grossmont will square off against La Jolla Country Day at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Jolla Country Day knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Grossmont likes a good challenge. Mission Bay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
