Softball Recap: Waterloo Wins Going Away Against Hughes

Waterloo won the last time they faced Hughes and things went their way on Tuesday too. Everything went the Waterloo Cougars' way against the Hughes Lions as the Waterloo Cougars made off with a 12-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won seven matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Clara Lambert was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten games. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Cooper, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Waterloo's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterloo will head out to challenge Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Waterloo is facing Cherokee at the right time seeing as Cherokee is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hughes, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hughes Lions face off against Santa Fe Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. They are coming into the contest on a seven-game losing streak dating back to last season.
