Baseball Game Preview: Happy Valley Warriors vs. South Greene Rebels

The Happy Valley Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the South Greene Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Happy Valley has four straight victories, South Greene has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Happy Valley beats South Greene with 11 runs on Monday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Happy Valley beat Hampton on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 11-1. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Lane Parker and Grady Goulds were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Parker tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Goulds struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Parker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Parker scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Goulds scored a run while going 1-for-1. That's the most runs Parker has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Aiden Hartsook was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Ty Johnson, who got no hits from his an at bat.

Meanwhile, South Greene scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Johnson County by a score of 9-8.

Happy Valley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10 runs. As for South Greene, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Happy Valley suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to South Greene in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Happy Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
