Cami Harris made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Burchell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Falkville can bid farewell to their eight-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over Tanner. The high-scoring effort was just what the Blue Devils needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
Kasey Foote made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Hannah Summerford was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Melody Sims, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-15-2. As for Falkville, their record is now 5-13.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Decatur Heritage Christian Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .466. However, it's not like Falkville struggles in that department as they've averaged .436. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Decatur Heritage Christian Academy beat Falkville 9-5 in their previous matchup back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
