Corinth Holders moved up to 252 from 329 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A Northern Carolina. Corinth Holders climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Bunn 40-15.
The Wildcats extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Barry Honeycutt's team, 40-15. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Corinth Holders' Kenneth Collins and Hampton Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Collins has thrown for 1495 yards this season, while Smith has 27 catches for 467 yards. Jaquan Jones from Warren County leads the league in rushing with 690 yards.
A big matchup in 2A Northern Carolina this week will be when North Johnston takes on Franklinton. The Panthers are currently in sixth, while the Rams are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when the Eagles and Corinth Holders face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Warren County comes in having scored 167 this season, while Corinth Holders has scored 179. John Ward's team scored 22 points last week as it bested Northwest Halifax.
Franklinton and Roanoke Rapids played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Franklinton eventually emerging with a 30-24 victory.
