Baseball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Blue Ridge's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

Blue Ridge was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Round Valley on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets blew past the Elks 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Yellow Jackets, who have now won seven games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Kaden Edgington, who gave up just six hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Round Valley off the board. Edgington has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Justin Carpenter was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Blue Ridge has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Round Valley, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-4.

Blue Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-1 win against Holbrook on the 8th. As for Round Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 16-0 victory against Valley on the 4th.
