If the El Primero Lobos were feeling good off their 69-45 takedown of Varsity Opponent on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. El Primero was beaten by San Jose 75-39 on Thursday. El Primero has not had much luck with San Jose recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, El Primero saw an underclassman step up: GUSTAVO MALVAES scored 14 points along with three steals. MALVAES hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. BRANDON ENZASTIGA was another key contributor, scoring six points.
El Primero's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for San Jose, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
El Primero will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Valley Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024. Hopefully North Valley Baptist focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 two weeks ago. San Jose's road trip will continue as they head out to face Harbor at 12:30 p.m. on December 23rd. Harbor is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
