Softball Recap: Harmony Wins Going Away Against Lakeland

Harmony won the last time they faced Lakeland and things went their way on Saturday too. The Harmony Longhorns put the hurt on the Lakeland Dreadnaughts with a sharp 13-3 victory. Considering the Longhorns have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Hailey Baker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Alexis Wilson was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Jade Allen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Harmony hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in four consecutive contests.

Harmony now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lakeland, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Harmony has already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against Palm Harbor University on the 1st. As for Lakeland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 13-3 defeat against Harmony on the 1st.
