It was a good run, but the Springport Spartans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of Bath by a score of 61-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the loss, Springport still got an impressive performance from Maddux Locke, who scored 28 points along with seven assists and five steals. Locke is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Chloey Speer, who scored six points along with five assists and four steals.
Springport's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Bath, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Springport will head out on the road to take on the Rangers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Reading will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Bath will take on the Ramblers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Fighting Bees are ranked 90th).
