The Enfield Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the New Britain Golden Hurricanes at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Enfield is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Enfield took a serious blow against East Catholic, falling 92-52. Enfield has not had much luck with East Catholic recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Meanwhile, New Britain waltzed into their contest on Saturday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They strolled past Harding with points to spare, taking the game 64-47. Given New Britain's advantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Harding is ranked 125th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Enfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for New Britain, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.
Enfield beat New Britain 57-46 when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Does Enfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will New Britain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
