The Big Spring Steers will challenge the Brownfield Cubs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Big Spring is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Big Spring not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since February 17th (when they won 18-5). They blew past Kermit 9-1. The win continues a trend for the Steers in their matchups with the Yellow Jackets: they've now won four in a row.

Caden Reynoso was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Alex Yanez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Big Spring was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kermit only posted a batting average of .222.
Meanwhile, Brownfield came up short against Fort Stockton on Saturday, falling 15-6. The loss continues a trend for the Cubs in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost four in a row.
Jayden Tijerina made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emmanuel Martinez, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Brownfield's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Big Spring, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9-1.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Big Spring has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .489. However, it's not like Brownfield struggles in that department as they've averaged .446. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Big Spring skirted past Brownfield 7-6 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Steers repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
