The Arapahoe Warriors will challenge the Eaglecrest Raptors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Arapahoe will be strutting in after a victory while Eaglecrest will be coming in after a defeat.
Arapahoe is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Cherokee Trail, who was ranked 19th at the time (Arapahoe was ranked 12th). The Warriors took down the Cougars 27-13 on Thursday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arapahoe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Theo Lee, who threw for 222 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt. Lee's passing game has become a key predictor of the Warriors' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise. Marcello Jaramillo helped Lee out on the ground, picking up 97 receiving yards and one TD.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Arapahoe proved: they limited Cherokee Trail to a paltry 3.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Connor Gilchrist for the heroic effort on defense: he. Arapahoe's run defense has been on the up-and-up: they allowed 4.08 yards per carry earlier this season, but they've only allowed 5.43 on average over their last five games.

Arapahoe's defense didn't let Bryson Peterson, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. In that department, Brody Sieck was the leader with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13. Another thorn in Cherokee Trail's side was Gilchrist, who picked up a sack and made 16 total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.
Despite a strong season so far, Eaglecrest has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-14 heartbreaker at the hands of Grandview. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Raptors have suffered against the Wolves since October 3, 2019.
Arapahoe now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Eaglecrest, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Arapahoe was able to grind out a solid victory over Eaglecrest in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 19-7. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Raptors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
