Softball Recap: Basha Wins High-Profile Match Against Desert Vista

Basha faced Desert Vista in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bears put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 14-4 win. Considering the Bears have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Morgan Bragg was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Addy Kimberlin was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Basha lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in four consecutive contests.

Basha is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Desert Vista, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 23-6.

As of now, neither Basha nor the Thunder have any future games scheduled.
