The Kennedy Catholic Lancers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Enumclaw Hornets at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Kennedy Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Kennedy Catholic scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They really took it to Federal Way for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-26 win on the road. That looming 65-26 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Kennedy Catholic yet this season.
Kennedy Catholic's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kathryn Schroeder, who scored nine points along with five steals, and Paige Nadarski, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Nadarski has scored all season. Aubrey McCraw was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Enumclaw's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 56-36 walloping at the hands of Bellevue Christian. While losing is never fun, Enumclaw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while Bellevue Christian is ranked 42nd).
Kennedy Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Enumclaw, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Kennedy Catholic couldn't quite finish off Enumclaw when the teams last played back in December of 2023 and fell 43-40. Can Kennedy Catholic avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
