Ferguson and Coral Gables are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Falcons will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against the Cavaliers at 3:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ferguson comes in on seven and Coral Gables on four.
Ferguson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Keys Gate on Monday as they made off with an 18-11 victory.
Ferguson got a great performance from Brandon Esquea as he didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Esquea has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Adrian Perez was a standout: he got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs and four RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alejandro Rosales, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Ferguson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .633. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, while Coral Gables put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Hialeah. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Thoroughbreds. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Miguel Castellanos looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Kevon Caffey and Julian Saveedra did most of the damage at the plate: Caffey scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Saveedra scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Saveedra has become a key player for Coral Gables: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 9-10-1 otherwise. Diego Llanes was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Ferguson's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-7-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Coral Gables, the win got them back to even at 11-11-1.
Ferguson skirted past Coral Gables 4-2 in their previous matchup back in February. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
