Grovetown has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Richmond Raiders at 8:00 p.m. Grovetown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 306th in Georgia, while Richmond is ranked 16th in North Carolina).
Grovetown's 20-9 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 46-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dacula on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grovetown has scored all season.
Richmond has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season. They took their matchup at home on Monday with ease, bagging a 93-55 win over Southern Lee. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Paul McNeil continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-8 from deep and dropping a double-double on 33 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Richmond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of JV Drake, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Grovetown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Richmond, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
