Ashley is 0-10 against Vestaburg since February of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Ashley Bears will be taking part in a tournament against the Vestaburg Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Ashley has given up an average of 50.4 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
Ashley is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 62-39 to Breckenridge. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-14.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Karissa Brady, who posted 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Peyton Rohn was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and four steals.
Meanwhile, Vestaburg's and Coleman's contest on Thursday was close at halftime, but Vestaburg turned on the heat in the second half with 41 points. Vestaburg blew past Coleman 58-38. The win was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on three straight.
Vestaburg's win came from a few key players Ashley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lily Johnston, who shot 41% from the field on her way to 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Stouten, who had nine points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
Vestaburg's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Ashley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-18.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ashley has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Vestaburg struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Ashley lost to Vestaburg on the road by a decisive 60-41 margin in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Vestaburg's Jaiden Anderson, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 16 points and six boards. Now that Ashley knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
