The Harvey Red Raiders will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Madison Blue Streaks at 2:30 p.m. Hopefully Harvey focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Harvey came up short against Jefferson Area and fell 66-54. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Harvey in their matchups with Jefferson Area: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Harvey got a solid performance out of Braylon Johnson, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Neiman Booker, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, even though Edgewood scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Madison still came out on top. Madison took down Edgewood 75-56. Madison pushed the score to 57-35 by the end of the third, a deficit Edgewood cut but never quite recovered from.
JP Dragas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points along with four steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times he's played. Noah Crites was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Harvey now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Madison, they pushed their record up to 12-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Harvey hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.6 points per game. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've been averaging 64 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Harvey might still be hurting after the 77-51 defeat they got from Madison when the teams last played back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dragas, who scored 20 points along with six steals and five assists. Now that Harvey knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
