Baseball Recap: Lynn Has No Trouble Against Sulligent

Lynn made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sulligent, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bears put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 14-2 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 12 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Cade Key made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Conner Tittle, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted over his last seven matches. Bryce Baughn was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Lynn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sulligent only posted an OBP of .304.

With the win, Lynn broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-4. As for Sulligent, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

Lynn wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against Oakman on the 22nd. As for Sulligent, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-0 loss against Red Bay on the 25th.
