Baseball Recap: Harford Tech Has No Trouble Against Aberdeen

Harford Tech barely beat Aberdeen the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cobras were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Eagles on Tuesday. The Cobras might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.

Cole Pomilla made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Harford Tech is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 6-8 otherwise. Pomilla was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zach Lane, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. He is becoming a predictor of Harford Tech's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-9 when he doesn't). Santiago Wienhold was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.

Harford Tech has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Aberdeen, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Harford Tech didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Perryville on the 2nd. Aberdeen has also already played their next match (against Havre de Grace), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
