Regan Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Rylee Lechner was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addy Blair, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, West Muskingum entered their tilt with Coshocton on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Redskins with a sharp 23-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Tornadoes, who have now won four games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Addy Antonetz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Mireyha Reese was a standout: she went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kyana Bowers, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
West Muskingum hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive contests.
West Muskingum's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for River View, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-7.
River View suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to West Muskingum in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Black Bears have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
