The Knox Redskins lost against the Kankakee Valley Kougars back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Knox was the victim of a tough 62-38 loss at the hands of Kankakee Valley. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Knox in their matchups with Kankakee Valley: they've now lost five in a row.
Kankakee Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brooke Swart led the charge by scoring 13 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyric Carpenter, who scored 15 points along with 8 rebounds.
Knox bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Kankakee Valley, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Knox will take on Triton at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Triton is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Kankakee Valley will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Michigan City at 7:00 p.m. on November 28th. Michigan City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while Kankakee Valley is ranked 94th).
