The Lakeside School Chiefs fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Springwood Wildcats on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 59-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Lakeside School has not had much luck with Springwood recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
It was another big night for Micah Thomas, who scored 19 points along with eight steals and six assists for Springwood. The contest was Thomas' tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Westbrook, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds.
Lakeside School's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Springwood, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Lakeside School will take on Southern Academy in a holiday battle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday at. As for Springwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Macon-East Montgomery Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Macon-East Montgomery Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
