Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Great Bridge). They were the clear victors by  a  15-5 margin over the King's Fork Bulldogs on Thursday. Considering the Wildcats have won six games by more than six  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Jensyn Koonce spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Adelynn Palmer and  Cara Lechowicz did most of the damage at the plate:  Palmer  went 2-for-3 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  RBI, while  Lechowicz  went 2-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI. Those  two  RBI gave  Lechowicz a new career-high.  Gabby Parker also deserves some recognition as  she  hit her first  double of the season.
 Great Bridge  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .614. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as King's Fork only posted  an  OBP of  .370.
Great Bridge has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for King's Fork, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record  this season.
 Great Bridge will be playing in front of their home fans against Bayside  at 5:45  p.m.  on Friday. The Marlins will roll in looking for their  fourth straight  win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for King's Fork, they will take on Norview at 5:00  p.m.  on Monday.
