Natalie Brownback had an outrageously good game for Nokomis as she scored 22 points along with three steals. Alivia Sabol was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Sangamon Valley/Tri-City's loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Nokomis, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season.
Sangamon Valley/Tri-City will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Arthur-Okaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sangamon Valley/Tri-City comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last 22 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Nokomis, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against North Mac at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Nokomis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Monday.
