Cane Ridge got a 57 - 26 win over Centennial last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Devon Starling. Starling rushed for 309 yards and two touchdowns. That performance landed Starling among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of last week's main attractions was the confrontation between Montgomery Bell Academy and Memphis University, 15th and 12th in the MaxPreps state rankings, respectively. Montgomery Bell Academy lost to Memphis University 22 - 13. As a result, Montgomery Bell Academy fell three positions in the power rankings.
Movin on Up
Pope John Paul II claimed most-improved honors this week by climbing the power ranking ladder 17 rungs after its game against Father Ryan. Pope John Paul II came out on top in a nail-biter against Father Ryan, sneaking past 20 - 17. Pope John Paul II and Father Ryan were a much more even match than Pope John Paul II's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
No Stoppin 'Em
Hillwood and Clarksville went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (88) among all power ranked teams. Clarksville strolled past Hillwood with points to spare, taking the game 54 - 34. Nevertheless, Clarksville did not have enough punch to impress the power rankings algorithm and slipped two spots in the rankings.
