The Betsy Layne Bobcats fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Wolfe County Wolves on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Wolves 89-83. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (66), Betsy Layne still had to take the loss.
Corey Flinchum continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wolfe County, scoring 28 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Camden Oliver, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Betsy Layne's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Wolfe County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.
Betsy Layne will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kentucky (Paintsville is ranked 113th, while the Bobcats are ranked 132nd). As for Wolfe County, they will head out on the road to challenge the Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
