The Estrella Foothills Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Deer Valley Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Estrella Foothills entered their tilt with Copper Canyon with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Estrella Foothills claimed a resounding 50-8 victory over Copper Canyon on the road. With Estrella Foothills ahead 30-0 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Anthony Horne Jr and Simione Koroush were among the main playmakers for Estrella Foothills as the former gained 69 total yards and two touchdowns and the latter rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Lorenzo Ruelas got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Deer Valley got themselves on the board against Maryvale on Thursday, but Maryvale never followed suit. They breezed by the Panthers at home to the tune of 47-0. The victory was nothing new for Deer Valley as they're now sitting on four straight.
Deer Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan English, who threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Kreuziger, who gained 105 total yards and two touchdowns.
Estrella Foothills' win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Deer Valley, their win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3.
Estrella Foothills was dealt a bruising 38-10 loss at the hands of Deer Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Will Estrella Foothills have more luck at home instead of on the road?
