The Castlewood Warriors will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the St. Mary Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. Castlewood has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3 during that stretch of close contests.
Castlewood's 18-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 43-42 to Great Plains Lutheran.
Despite their defeat, Castlewood saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Presley Knecht, who scored 13 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Wittnebel, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, St. Mary scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Thursday. They strolled past Estelline/Hendricks with points to spare, taking the game 52-38. That 14 points margin sets a new team best for St. Mary this season.
Castlewood's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for St. Mary, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.
